Leo Gonzales Jr. wants to do something to both serve the community and honor his recently deceased uncle, Johnny Gonzales, who was well-known for his decades of public service in Roswell.

Gonzales has organized an event in which local stylists will give free haircuts to homeless individuals this weekend at Harvest Ministries, 601 N. Main St.

The haircuts will be offered on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 12:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Gonzales said free haircuts will be given to anyone who comes in, though he wants to emphasize that his intentions are to help the homeless, who have limited financial resources.

A free lunch will be served to those who come in for a haircut.
