According to a statement of probable cause by RPD officer Randy Rodriquez, a traffic stop occurred in the parking lot of Pecos Elementary School at about 8:48 a.m. Wednesday. Rodriquez stated he observed the driver of the vehicle, Tasha Gee, to have slurred speech and other signs of impairment.

Broach

Gee told police she had pulled into the parking lot to check her children into school because they were running late and that the passenger of the vehicle, Jarrod Broach, was escorting her two children inside the school.

Police asked Gee if she had any consumed any alcohol, to which she told police she had about two shots of alcohol the day before, but that she was a Type 1 diabetic and not feeling well due to not taking her medication.

After Broach came back from meeting with school personnel, police received an NCIC return stating Broach had a failure to appear warrant out of Carlsbad. After Broach was placed under arrest, a loaded .40 caliber Hi-Point pistol was found in his waistband at his right side. Broach was also charged with unlawful carrying of a deadly weapon on school premises.
