The Sunrise Optimist Club helped sponsor the Science Olympiad held at the New Mexico Military Institute Saturday by fixing and serving breakfast and lunch to the school sponsors, teachers, bus drivers, judges and any other officials working at the competition. Students from all over the southeast corner of the state participated in different science-related events. Pictured, from left, are PJ Marshall/Reise, Pam Davis, Carrol Bell, and Pat Burnett. Not only does the Sunrise Optimist Club take care of the hospitality room, they pay for half the medals awarded to the students at the end of the competition. If you would like to help in this project or any of the other youth projects the Sunrise Optimist Club sponsors, contact membership chairman Roger K. Burnett at 420-9420 or join us for breakfast at the Red Onion, 7 a.m. any Wednesday morning. (Submitted Photo)
