Kids accept healthy challenge

Pictured is Interim Superintendent Susan Sanchez handing out awards to Roswell Independent School District students. This week students received ‘5210’ awards from Healthy Kids of Chaves County. The challenge is three weeks long, with the participants having to daily eat five fruits and vegetables, use two hours or less of screen time, perform one hour or more of physical activity and drink water. Pecos Elementary had 100 percent participation for their third-graders. Sanchez and Mayor Dennis Kintigh were present to support and hand out the medals to the students. (Submitted Photo)
