First Friday — A street full of heart

Mason Henington holds a lamb in his arms at the entrance of Shoes to Be Happy and The T-Shirt Factory while 9-year-old Makenna Brumana reacts to the animal’s cuteness. For the second year, MainStreet Roswell invited both the local community and tourists to partake in a First Friday event that centered around charities and nonprofits. From 5 to 8 p.m., participating businesses on Main Street raised funds and collected items for an organization of their choice. Cuddly animals from Runyan Ranch Rescue Zoo were at Shoes To Be Happy and The T-Shirt Factory, while Apple Blossom Flower Shop served as a temporary home to loving dogs representing From Forgotten to Forever Rescue and Transport. Those who donated a gently used article of clothing to Casa Bella Boutique received an additional 20 percent discount while Stellar Coffee Co. continued to accept and match donations for the Roswell Homeless Coalition.
