Richard D. Galassini, 63, lost his battle with cancer and passed away January 23, 2018, in Davao City, Republic of the Philippines.  He was born August 26, 1954, in Roswell, NM, to Douglas and Katy Murphy Galassini.
Richard was employed for the last 17 years in many overseas countries as a construction IT supervisor for Fluor Daniel Construction out of Houston, TX.  He most recently spent several years working in the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Tengiz Oil Field. He had friends from all over Europe, the Middle East, and Asia and enjoyed learning about the culture and governments of other countries.  Richard loved literature, music, playing the guitar, and could converse on almost any subject.  His love for life and family was constant.
Richard was preceded in death by his father Douglas, and grandparents Mario & Ruth Galassini and Lewis and Frances Clem of Roswell; and, Aunt Winifred and Uncle Stanley Mixon.  Those left to keep the good memories are his wife, Angeline and daughter, Aryn, of the Philippines; son, Joseph Galassini, and daughters Stephanie and Hannah Galassini of Santa Fe, NM; mother, Katy Galassini of Roswell; sister, Stacy Galassini of Carlsbad, NM; brothers Terry Galassini (Lisa) of The Woodlands, TX and Bret Galassini (Ta) of Laos; nephews, Davis and Grant Galassini of The Woodlands, TX, Gary Galassini of Roswell, and Joe Galassini of Laos; niece Lara Galassini of Roswell; Uncle Bill and Aunt Janne Murphy of Roswell; and cousins Christy Murphy of Chattanooga, TN, Mike Murphy of Dallas, TX, Shannon Murphy Hickock of Los Gatos, CA, Tanya Kimball of Oklee, MN, and Larry Mixon of Salt Lake City, UT.
Richard was cremated in the Philippines and as he requested, his ashes were spread over the bay at Davao City.
