Artesia Public School voters approve mill levy

Eddy County Clerk Robin Van Natta takes a phone call Tuesday at the Eddy County Sub-Office in Artesia. Van Natta helped poll workers count results from a mill levy election for the school district as 310 voted for it and 30 voted against it. As a result, property owners in the school district will be paying a property tax of $2 per each $1,000 of net taxable value of property in the district. The money will be used for multiple projects, according to APS Superintendent Crit Caton. (Mike Smith Photo)
