Frances W Adams, 94, went to be with her Lord and Savior, January 16, 2018. A Memorial Service will be held at Bethel Baptist Church, Friday, February 9, 2018, 3:00 PM. Born July 22, 1923, in Allen, Oklahoma, to Frank and Esther Bradley, Frances was the seventh of ten children. The Bradleys moved to Roswell, NM, early in her life where she went to school and graduated from Roswell High in 1942.
Frances was courted by a handsome young basketball player from Hagerman, NM, Bobbie Dean Adams. They were married in Buffalo, NY, on March 10, 1944, right before he was deployed to the European theater in World War II. Thankfully, the war ended relatively soon after that and he returned to Roswell where they had four children who remain to cherish her memory: Janet Royal (Gary, deceased), Judy Brown (Mike), Mike Adams (Julie), and Bradley Adams (Michael). She is survived by eight grandchildren: Michael (Colleen), Bradley (Kristi), Matthew , Megan Walker (Jason), Mitchell Reese (Lindsey), Jennifer Royal, David Brown (Kaci) and James Brown (Stephanie). She was also blessed with seventeen great-grandchildren. Frances is also survived by one sister, Bettye.
Bob preceded Frances in death in May of 1997. Frances was also preceded in death by three brothers and five sisters.
Frances was a devoted Christian, a wonderful Mother, and an awesome Grandmother and Great Grandmother (known by her great grandkids as Gigi). After Bob passed away, she remained active, including volunteering at Eastern NM Medical Center into her 80’s. Serving her Lord and her family were paramount in her life.
We will miss this dear, sweet woman more than words can say, but we give her up to God and are grateful she is no longer in pain. We thank Tim, Chelsea, and Staci with Kindred Hospice for their wonderful care the last few months of her life. We also want to thank her special caregivers– Christy and Kenia, who were amazingly gentle and kind with our Mom/Grandma/Gigi. We appreciate you so much.
The family requests donations be made to the Assurance Home at assurancehome.org or to the New Mexico Baptist Children’s Home at nmbch.com/give/ or to the charity of your choice in lieu of flowers.
This obituary tribute was lovingly written in honor of Frances by her family.
