Clorinda Chavez, 88, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Sunday, February 11, 2018. There will be a Viewing at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 14, 2018, 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM, with a Rosary to follow at 6:00 PM. On July 2, 1929, Clorinda was born to Benedito and Christina Duran in Las Animas, Colorado. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Clorinda loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed listening to music, cooking, playing cards and her crossword puzzles. Clorinda worked as a nurse’s aide at the New Mexico Rehabilitation Center for twenty-two years. She will be missed dearly by her family and friends.

Preceding Clorinda in death were her husband, Benny Chavez; daughter, Christine Sanchez, parents: Benedito and Christina Duran; and brother, Antonio Duran.

Those left to cherish the memory of Clorinda are daughters: Emma Duran, Angie Chavez; sons: Andrew, Richard and Robert Chavez; godson, Rudy Chavez; companion of thirty-five years, Luis Meza; grandchildren: Pete, Adrian, Oscar, Easy, Matthew Sanchez and spouses, Amie Barela and Martin Duran, Jessica Chavez, Bernave De La Cruz Jr, Lupe Robledo, Krystal, Yazmine, Robert Jr; twenty-five great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Clorinda’s family lovingly wrote this tribute in her honor.
