Goddard High School saw a greater presence of local police Thursday in response to violent threats written on a wall in a school restroom.

According to the Roswell Police Department’s public information officer, Todd Wildermuth, the threat to do harm to students and school personnel was found Wednesday afternoon by a student who reported it to school administration.

Police said the threat claimed it would be carried out Thursday.

“An RPD investigation was started and is ongoing,” Wildermuth said. “The school used its automated calling system yesterday to notify parents of the situation. Any student with information that could be related to this incident is asked to talk to school administrators, the school’s security officer or the RPD school resource officer at GHS. Any parent or anyone else with information that could be related to this incident is also asked to contact the school or RPD.”

The RPD can be reached at 575-624-6770, while Goddard High can be contacted at 575-627-4800.
