Family gets ‘Miracle’ newborn colt

When Ricky Tripp, lead pressman at the RDR, went out to feed his Appaloosa horses on Feb. 10 north of Roswell, his male horse, “Buddy” moved out of the way to reveal “Miracle,” — a newborn colt. It was a surprise to Tripp, as the mother horse, “Diamond,” was not “showing” at all. Tripp said his family has owned the land since 1959, and no colts have been born on their property since the late ‘70s. “Tyme for Diamonds,” aka “Miracle,” was named after her mother and is shown pictured here with her mother.
