Raul Espinoza Canela, 79, passed away on Thursday, February 22, 2018, in Clovis, NM. There will be a Viewing at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 27, 2018, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM and Wednesday, February 28, 2018, 8:00 AM – 7:00 PM, followed by a Rosary at 7:00 PM. A Mass Service will be held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church on Thursday, March 1, 2018, 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at South Park Cemetery. On December 1, 1938, Raul was born to Leonardo Canela and Juanita Espinoza in Villa Guerrero, Jalisco, Mexico. He came to the United States in 1974, and later became an American Citizen. Raul lived most of his life in Dexter, NM. He worked as a farm hand for over forty years at Grassy Farms. Raul had a loving and generous heart, always willing to help others. He was a wonderful stepfather, uncle, and friend to many. Raul was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed, not only by his family and friends, but by all those fortunate enough to have known him.
Those left to cherish Raul’s memory are his sisters: Leonarda Castro of Roswell, Socorro Velasco of Roswell; brother, Juan Canela of Mexico; numerous nieces and nephews; and numerous step-children and step-grandchildren.
Preceding Raul in death were his wife, Olivia Jacquez; parents: Leonardo Canela and Juanita Espinoza; siblings: Cayetano Canela, Rogelio Canela, Ramon Canela, Mercedes Canela and Catalina Canela.
Those chosen as Pallbearers will be: Raul Castro Sr, Carlos Castro, Raul Castro Jr, Enrique Velasco, Jose Chavez and Carlos Anchondo.
Raul’s family wishes to give Special Thanks to his loving caregivers, Carlos Anchondo, Sonia Ramirez, Jose Chavez and Rosa Olivas.

Raul’s family lovingly wrote this tribute in his honor.
