Consultant to give marketing advice to local businesses

Businesses have three options when it comes to growing: new customers, increased size of average sales and more frequent purchases by existing customers.

“They can’t teach you more than that at the Harvard Business School,” said Paul Furse, a consultant from Utah. “Although it’s not just what you do, but how you do it. It’s not just what you say, but how you say it that counts.”

Furse will be in Roswell in a couple of weeks to help local business leaders increase their sales and customer bases.

Bullock’s Jewelry and MainStreet Roswell are sponsoring the seminar Saturday, March 17, from 8 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. at the Roswell Chamber of Commerce. Furse is expected to talk about the marketing principles, strategies and tactics that will help all types of businesses grow.

The workshop is free to owners of businesses or properties in the MainStreet Roswell district.

Other business leaders can participate for $20. Typically the seminar would cost almost $400 for participants, according to Main Street Executive Director Kathy Lay, but the costs have been offset by MainStreet and Bullock’s.

According to websites and social media sites, Furse was a former regional manager for Beneficial Utah Inc. and is an entrepreneur who has started several business ventures. He works as a business coach with Ascend Marketing Inc. as well as other organizations.
