NMMI to host Science Night

On March 8 from 5 to 8 p.m., New Mexico Military Institute will host the Fourth Annual Science Night at Del Norte Elementary School. This event was organized by Dr. Yang and Dr. Tang, associate professors at NMMI and the PTO at Del Norte Elementary School. The science activities in each classroom are conducted by knowledgeable NMMI College cadets currently enrolled in the physics classes. The activities encompass physics, chemistry and biology. They demonstrate Newton’s law, fluid dynamics, optics, electricity, magnetism, states of matter, acid and base and other important concepts. In past years, NMMI cadets have shown tremendous leadership to the local elementary students ranging from Kindergarten to 5th grade. Last year, NMMI hosted the Science Nights at Del Norte Elementary, Missouri Ave. Elementary, Berrendo Elementary, Washington Ave. Elementary and Parkview Early Literacy Center. (Submitted Photo)
