Sing in Spring at First Friday Downtown Market

MainStreet Roswell Announces First Friday DownTown Market this week at 5 to 8 p.m. with a “Sing In The Spring!” theme.

March is “Music in Schools Month” and there will be a musical theme lined up for this First Friday. There will be activities, specials, and sales, which will be music to one’s ears and wallet. For a free craft project, stop by Dara’s Upholstery 304 N. Main St. from 5-8 p.m. Craft supplies will be provided with ideas to turn photos into memories Just bring in photos to make a free craft project.

Reischman Park 310 N. Main St. and for live music. Jani Kosturski and RISD students will be performing there. There will be a Karaoke machine there for people who want to take a turn at the mic to perform a favorite song.

Books Again will host The Grinch, who will be reading from several Dr. Seuss books to celebrate Dr. Seuss’ birthday on Friday. It is an opportunity to snap a selfie with the green guy, bring the kids in to meet the Grinch, and get in on the $5 bag sale.

Stroll the downtown shops and stop in at Peppers Grill & Bar, Big D’s Downtown Dive, El Toro Bravo, Billy Ray’s, Third Street Station BBQ, Papa Johns, Stellar Coffee, or Martins Capitol Café for food choices within walking distance.

Several other businesses are participating by offering exclusive deals.

Participating busniess that close at 5 p.m. includes Apple Blossom and free admission to Alien Zone for local residents with proof. Main Street Arts/The Gallery 233 at N. Main St. will have photography showing and a chance to sign up for the upcoming March paint party titled “Hello Spring.” Tascosa at 321 N. Main will stay open to receive donations to the Humane Society and get copies or faxes for free.

Closing at 5:30, Bullocks Jewelry and Imagine That! Scrapbooks & Gifts 317 N. Main St. will be participating. Stardust Antiques, Arts, & Artifacts at 208 N. Main St. will be open to showcase new vendor booths.

Business wrapping up at 6 p.m. will be Finishing Touches at 316 N. Main St., Paris Bridal at 106 S. Main St, and Roswell Invasion T-Shirts & More at 105 N Main St. Ancients of Days is having a March madness sale for cutting rocks $2 per pound (normally $5), 20 percent off slabs, and 50 percent off select cabochons, as well as the option to make a reasonable deal with the staff until the closing time at 6 p.m.

Downtown Nutrition at 115 E. Third St. and Gus & Lucy’s Place 110 W. First St. will be open until 7 p.m. and be sure to mention First Friday for potential discounts. Sol Juice & Supplements at 305 N. Main St. will also be closing at this time.

Barringer’s, Books Again, Bows & Britches, Casa Bella Boutique will be participating by offering various sales until 8 p.m. Once Again Consignment at 207 N. Main St. will offer 25 percent off all jeans, plus a $1 clearance rack. Shoes to Be Happy/T-Shirt Factory at 302 N. Main St. open will have deals on baseball shirts and Advanced Auto Parts 125 S. Main St. is offering a deal for two appearance products for online $20.

El Toro Bravo Bakery at 102 W. First St. and Roswell Landing at 205 N. Main St. will be finishing off the night at 9 p.m. and Stellar Coffee at 315 N. Main St. is offering a limited specialty drink called The Leprechaun, which is a blended sweet drink with vanilla bean, matcha and peppermint.
