Early voting comes to a close

Jeff Bechtel, IT Manager for the city of Roswell, was the last one to vote and thereby close early voting at 4:59 p.m. on Friday at City Hall. City Clerk Sharon Coll and Deputy Clerk Stephanie Garay have been facilitating early voting since Feb. 4. Coll said 1,347 people early voted and Friday had 225 attendees, which made it the busiest day to vote. Election Day is Tuesday and the polls at the six voting convenience centers will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. for city residents. Pecos Trails Transit will be offering free rides to the stops nearest to the polls. For other inquiries, call 575-637-6202 or 575-637-6263 to contact the City Clerk’s Office. (Alison Penn Photo)
