James V. Silva, 60, passed away on Friday, March 2, 2018. A Rosary will be recited at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 6, 2018, 7:00 PM. There will be a Memorial Service at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home, on Wednesday, March 7, 2018, 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at South Park Cemetery. A Reception will be held after Interment at the American Legion, 1620 N Montana Ave, Roswell, NM. James was a loving husband, father, son, grandpa, uncle and friend. He loved spending time with his family and friends. James was so caring and concerned for those in need, especially, the neighborhood children and the children he coached. He was always willing to take them under his wing. James enjoyed sports, coaching soccer, hunting, fishing and going to the casino and mountains. He also enjoyed watching the Cowboys and Broncos play. He touched so many lives and will be greatly missed. “We love you so much Dad and Grandpa, until we meet again.”
Those left to eternally treasure and cherish James memory are Ruth Silva, mother of his children; son, Oscar M. Silva and wife, Toni and children: Danyelle and boyfriend, Jeremy, Josh, Jonathan, Brody; son, James A. Silva and wife Andrea and children: Emily, Gabriella, Eric; son, Thomas Mein and wife, Liz and children: CeeAudra, Cassidy; brothers: Jesse V. Silva and wife, Paula, Albert Silva and wife, Mary, Gomesindo (Chindo) Silva, Jr. and wife, Patsy, and Eppie Silva all of Roswell, Fernando Silva and wife, Sheila of Abilene, Texas; sisters: Faye Silva, Nieves Ramey, and Maggie Garrison all of Roswell, Della Griffith and husband, Griff of Converse, Texas, Linda Alywin Silva of Mesquite, TX; goddaughter, Savannah Ordorica; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding James in death were his parents: Gomesindo A. Silva and Elizabeth V. Silva; brothers: Marcello Silva, Steve Silva; sisters-in-law: Debbie J. Silva, Nancy Silva, Flora Silva; and tios/uncles: Faustino A. Silva, Pete Silva and Emilio Silva.
Chosen as Honorary pallbearers are: Oscar Silva, James Silva, Thomas Mein, Albert “Boy Boy” Silva, Ernie Silva, Jesse “Shay” Silva, Valarde Gonzales, Valarde Gonzales Jr, Manuel Vasquez and Angel Gonzales.
James’ family would like to give a ‘Special Thanks’ to Ruth, the mother of his children, for all of her love and support throughout the years and in his time of need; Aunt Maggie, “Mag” for all of her love and support, who went beyond the call of duty to care for her brother; Dr. Pinon, Dr. Ridout, Fresenius South Eastern New Mexico Kidney Care Center, ENMMC Hospital staff and his girls at I-Hop.
