Olivares, Ascension, “Chonito” 56, passed away March 5, 2018. Jack of all trades, Chon worked for different companies, but really enjoyed working for his sister’s family business, T&G Mowing, riding the tractor. He enjoyed building and cruising his low rider cars, taking motorcycle trips, and listening to music. Above all, he loved spending time with his grandkids, fishing and taking them to get ice cream. He was a loyal and honorable family man and friend. Chon was a light hearted, funny character who never met a stranger. He was preceded by parents, Jose and Tomasa; siblings, Josephine O. Young, Fred and Juan Manuel Olivares. Chonito is survived by life-long companion and beloved, Blanca E. Maloney; son, Israel M. “Boyboy” Olivares; daughters, Blanca “Chuger” (Rodrigo Lopez) Olivares and Sophia “Chicanita” (Jose L.)Cardenas; siblings, Andres R. Olivares, Jose R. (Eva) Olivares, Alice (Pete) Olivares-Chawk, Robert R. (Rose) Olivares, Grace (Tim) Simon, Tomasita (Scott) Henseler and Steve R. (Joni) Olivares; grandchildren, Alliza Olivares, Angeles Lopez, Lily Cardenas, Rodrigo Lopez, Antonio Lopez and Dahlia Cardenas; as well as many nieces and nephews in KS, TX, NM and AZ. View at 6 p.m. and Rosary 7 p.m. Thursday, March 8, 2018 and Mass 3 p.m. Friday, March 9, 2018 both at Resthaven Mortuary Chapel.
