A memorial service is scheduled for Patsy Ruth “Pat” Carter at 11:00 AM Saturday, March 10 at Harvest Fellowship, 2307 W. Main in Artesia, NM. (formerly K-Mart)
Pastor Ronnie Williams will officiate the service.
Pat passed away March 6, 2018, at home surrounded by family.
Pat was born September 11, 1941, to Bruce and Ruth Newton Evans in Carlsbad, NM. She grew up in Lake Arthur, NM where she graduated high school in 1959. She married Don Carter on December 31, 1960, in Lake Arthur, NM. She kept books for Carter Auto Electric until she went to work for the United States Postal Service as a rural mail carrier.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother and sister-in-law Bob and Stella Evans and sister-in-law Gerre Evans of Roswell, NM.
She is survived by her husband, Don, of the home, sons Jimmy Carter of Mesa, AZ, Danny Carter and wife Serilda, Rodney Carter and wife Crissa, daughter Suzi Hoskins and husband Mark, all of Artesia. Grandchildren of Pat “Nonny” are Mandi Usherwood and husband Travis of Artesia, Meagan Carter of Artesia, Brooke Hoskins of Lubbock, TX, Ty Carter and wife Bri, of Lubbock, TX, Zak Carter of Phoenix, AZ, Logan Hoskins of Lubbock, TX, Mitch Carter of Mesa, AZ, Kye Carter, Cass Carter both of Artesia, Autumn Hoskins of Lubbock, TX and Canon Carter of Artesia and five great-grandchildren. She is also survived by brothers Harold Evans and wife Virginia of Artesia, Dan Evans of Roswell, NM, and Jerry Evans and wife Trudy of Lake Arthur, NM. She is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
