December 13, 1951 – February 27, 2018

Patricia Gail Jordan (Pat) passed away on Tuesday, February 27, 2018, after a courageous, hard fought, twenty-five-year battle with Multiple Sclerosis. She had recently moved from Houston, TX, to Roswell, NM, to be near her family.
On December 13, 1951, Patricia was born to Thomas J. Jordan Sr. and Lorene Jordan. She grew up in Roswell, NM, where she attended school. Patricia moved to Texas in the early 1980’s and to Houston, TX, in the late 1980’s; she fell in love with the city. After a few years moving to Houston she went to work for Rice University for the Earth Science Department as an accountant. Patricia loved working at Rice University, she loved the diversity of working with scientists and students from the United States and all over the world. She loved to hear all the stories the scientists recounted from their native countries and the adventures they had in their various fields of research.
She also enjoyed spending time with her family and shopping (shopping was her passion). Patricia was an awesome Cajun cook and loved talking baseball with her father and brother, and talking politics, especially with her father. She loved her daughter Lori and her granddaughter Lisa and was always planning their next vacation together.
Surviving to cherish Patricia’s memory are her father, Thomas J. Jordan Sr; daughter, Lori Dibenedetto (Ventura, CA); brother, Thomas J Jordan Jr. (Roswell, NM); sister, (in and out of law) Shelia Jordan (Roswell, NM); step-brother, Jim Marling (Roswell, NM); granddaughters: Lisa Crismon (Ventura, CA), Lori Elizabeth Beck; nephew, Stanley R Jordan (Hobbs, NM); aunt, Kay Greengrass (Arlington, TX); great-nephews: Ty Jordan (Roswell, NM), Michael Jordan (Hobbs, NM), Seth Jordan (Hobbs, NM) Kenny Kindrick (Austin, TX); and great-niece, Jessica Kindrick (Auston, TX). Patricia’s cat ,Brutus has been placed with a family friend.
Preceding Patricia in death were her mother, Lorene Jordan, sister, Camilla Jordan; daughter, Lisa Workman; grandparents: Labe and Vada Jordan; uncle, Jared Jordan; aunt, Exer Jordan; nephew-in-law, Chuck Greengrass; precious cat, Popeye; and loving dog, Rocky.
Patricia was loved and will be deeply missed.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to Multiple Sclerosis Research Institute.
Her daughter Lori Dibenedetto posted this on Facebook and we thought it so fit her mother, Patricia.
“On February 27th my mother Pat Jordan lost her 25-year battle with Multiple Sclerosis. MS is a complex disease with no cure. Symptoms vary greatly between individuals, but she had significant physical limitations from the time of diagnosis which rapidly progressed to the loss of use of her legs. Despite these complications, she lived independently, worked full-time and never complained. She overcame the many challenges set before her with a positive outlook and lived a full life. She will always be remembered for her strength, tenacity and courage. I have deep appreciation and gratitude towards Shelia Jordan and Tom Jordan for their care in her final days and their support. There is much to be learned about the cause and treatments of this disease. If you can please consider making a contribution towards MS research or other non-profit to help individuals with this diagnosis.”
Honoring Patricia’s wishes, no service will be held.
