Delbert Roy Thielman, 84, passed away on Thursday, March 8, 2018. A Memorial Service will be held at Brookdale Senior Living, 2725 N. Pennsylvania, Roswell, NM, on Thursday, March 15, 2018, 3:00 P.M.

On February 14, 1934, Delbert was born to Gerhart and Eva Esther Thielman in Hillsboro, Kansas, Merion County. In 1952, he graduated with honors from High School in Manhattan, Kansas. Delbert was a co-captain of the First Sun College football team. Delbert drafted into the United States Army, he remained there for two years, from 1953 to 1955. He met the love of his life, Sharon Kimsey in Manhattan, Kansas, and married her on May 25, 1955, in Beloit, Kansas. Delbert attended Kansas State University where he received a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1960. He and his wife Sharon moved to Roswell, New Mexico in 1990.
Prior to retirement, Delbert worked for GE Electric as a Quality Engineering Manager-Registered Engineer for thirty years. He was a loyal fan of Kansas St. Wildcats and a Church Youth Group Mixer. Delbert was a member of the Cactus Sam’s Chapter of Good’s Sam. He played (tried to play) golf. Delbert loved to visit and keep up with his friends. He will be greatly missed, and the memories Delbert shared with his family and friends will forever remain in their hearts.
Left to eternally treasure and cherish Delbert’s memory is his loving wife, Sharon Thielman.
Preceding Delbert in death are his parents: Gerhart George Thielman and Eva Esther Ratzlaff; and brother, George Gerhard Thielman.
