Our parents went to be with their Lord on Monday, March 26, 2018, in Roswell, New Mexico. Celebrate Travis’ and Deloris’ life by visiting www.andersonbethany.com to offer a memory or expression of sympathy for their family.
Travis was born in Plains, Texas, on December 25, 1929, and Deloris was born in Logan, West Virginia, on April 15, 1948. Travis served in the US Army, where he fought honorably for his country in the Triple Nickel field Artillery Unit, Korea, and Deloris grew up in West Virginia with her parents, Clarence and Bernice Lovejoy.
Between the two of them, they had nine children: Sylvia Barnhill (deceased), Linda Erickson (deceased), Debra Vasquez of Tularosa, NM, Cindy Guilez of Alamogordo, NM, Michael Lovejoy of Hagerman, NM, Johnny Lovejoy (deceased), Norman Helmstetler of Albuquerque, NM; Allen Helmstetler of Huntington, WV, and Travina Hernandez of Roswell, NM.
The family would like to express our heartfelt love, affection and appreciation to our many friends and neighbors. We would also like to acknowledge the first responders, Fire Fighters, Police, Paramedics, the emergency staff at ENMMC, the businesses and companies around Roswell who were incredibly patient with our parents and helped them in every way possible.
Furthermore, we wish to Thank our parents’ caregivers, doctors and physicians who took such good care of them; and for the outpouring of love and sympathy from complete strangers. As well as to the people who have selflessly shared our burdens at this most difficult time.
Anderson Bethany Funeral Home and Crematory are handling all the arrangements. There will be a Graveside Service at General Douglas L. McBride Veterans Cemetery on Wednesday, April 4, 2018, 2:00 PM.
Travis and Deloris’ family lovingly wrote this tribute in their honor.
