Demand Congress vote on HR4670

When the president speaks, he thinks aloud and goes all over the place. Haters don’t listen to him and his detractors disparage his way of speaking, but when he talks of issues like guns or immigration, he’s conversing with us and calling for action.

After the Parkland school shooting, Florida enacted a waiting period to purchase guns, raised the age to 21 to buy them, banned bump stocks, permitted police to go to court to take guns away from crazies, and began training teachers to use guns to protect students. Consequently, the NRA sued to protect the “right to bear arms” for Floridians 18 to 20, and kids walked out of school to end gun violence but attacked the NRA and gun owners instead. Retired Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens called for the repeal of the second amendment, which would take guns away from law-abiding citizens. This is what Democrats really want but won’t admit.

The president promised to build a wall. Beside the wall, he asked for an end to chain migration and visa lottery which would be replaced by a merit-based immigration system most citizens favor. In exchange, he would have granted citizenship to Dreamers and a million other illegal aliens. Democrats rejected his offer.

The president is done dealing for Dreamers, and he won’t settle for a down payment on immigration reform. He expects the House to vote on the Securing America’s Future Act — House Resolution 4670 — which detains asylum seekers in countries like Mexico and allows Dreamers to work. It prevents employers from cheating our citizens and legal immigrants of an honest wage because they’ll no longer hire illegals. To do this, the Senate must get rid of the filibuster and pass this legislation by a simple majority.

Doesn’t this beat catching illegals at the border and releasing them into our communities and having a hearing for them years later where most don’t show? It’s time to decide. Demand Congress vote, so we can reward or punish them in November.
