Remembering Nancy Britton

Around 100 people attended an interment for Nancy Britton on Tuesday at the Gen. Douglas L. McBride Veterans Cemetery. Britton died March 30 at age 77. She served for more than 10 years in the Roswell Veterans Honor Guard, which conducted the service with Pastor Rick Hale of Grace Community Church. Britton served in the U.S. Air Force and was a school counselor for 30 years. Along with her participation in numerous veterans' groups, Britton was a devote member of Grace Community. Hale read Psalm 23, which is attributed to King David: "The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul." Britton's ashes were presented to her son, Carl Britton Jr., who lives in Lubbock.
