RISD authorizes part-time employee benefits

Part-time employees benefit resolution passed at the Roswell Independent School District’s school board meeting on Tuesday night.

Chad Cole, assistant superintendent of finance and operations, said that state regulations require the authorization of this resolution, which would provide insurance benefits coverage to certified employees. These employees must work no more 20 hours a week, but no less than 15.

Cole said there are currently six employees who qualify and would cost the district $29,822, a number that fluctuates on a yearly basis.

Alan Gedde, school board secretary, made the motion and Vice President Rueben Sanchez seconded.

RISD’s selection for superintendent of the 2018-2019 school year will be announced on Monday at 5 p.m. during a special school board meeting.
