That 70s Dance

The fundraising event for The Roswell Refuge annual dance, Take-a-Stand-dinner and silent auction takes place at the Hi-Q Venue at 6:30 p.m. Theme is That 70s Dance. The event benefits The Roswell Refuge, the domestic violence shelter and the SANE program. Donations are needed by March 30. For more information, email ksmith@roswellrefuge.org.

Home Garden Club’s Gardener’s Market

The Home Garden Club’s of Roswell are having the annual Gardener’s Market at Cahoon Park, across the old Cahoon Pool, from 8 a.m. until everything is sold. Golf tournament

Eastern New Mexico-Roswell Foundation will hold the 15th annual golf tournament at the New Mexico Military Golf Course. Tee time is at 8 a.m. Registration fee includes breakfast, lunch, green fees, carts and range balls. Individuals or teams can sign up. Teams should have a minimum total handicap of 40. Sunday Funday

Sunday Funday at the Historical Society for Southeast New Mexico presents the author of “Wicked Women of New Mexico,” Donna Blake Birchell of Carlsbad. She will spotlight some famous female bandits and saloon madams of the Southwest. The event includes a book signing and will be held from 3 to 4 p.m. at the HSSNM archive building, 208 N. Auditions for “Grease”

Way Way Off-Broadway will be holding auditions for its 2018 Summer production of “Grease” at the Eastern New Mexico University-Roswell Performing Arts Center from 7 to 9 p.m. on both days. At the audition performers may sing a song of their choice with a CD or USB accompaniment track. The song is limited to no more than 16 measures or about one minute. WWOB recommends choosing a song that compliments the performers vocal range and style. These are open auditions for anyone 15 or older and all roles are open for audition. Printmaking with Nature

The Roswell Public Library, 301 N. Pennsylvania Ave. (library lawn weather permitting), is inviting the public to celebrate Earth Day by learning how to make artistic keepsakes by utilizing natural materials and print-making techniques. All ages are welcome. Children under 6 must be accompanied by an adult. Supplies will be provided but participants are welcome to bring additional leaves and other materials. ENMU-R celebrates 60th anniversary

Eastern New Mexico University-Roswell is celebrating its 60th anniversary with an open house from 10 to 4 p.m. Visitors are welcome. At 11 a.m. At 2 p.m. the anniversary ceremony and reception takes place in the administrative center lobby with refreshments. From 11:30 to 1:30 p.m. There will be hamburgers and hot dogs for all staff and students in tents on lawn between the administration center and student services center. There are additional activities planned, such as sidewalk chalk art contest, there will be a photo booth and music. At 1 p.m. the iCenter in the OTC has its grand opening. Community Planting Day

MainStreet Roswell is asking for volunteers to fill the planters downtown with flowers. Everybody will meet at the Chaves County Courthouse lawn at 9 a.m. for instructions. MainStreet Roswell will bring enough flowers for all the planters. Volunteers are asked to bring their gardening spades. Everybody is invited to help and make downtown beautiful. Bone Springs Art Space opening

Roswell’s newest art center, Bone Springs Art Space, 212 E. Walnut St., is holding its grand opening. At 10 a.m. there will be a ribbon cutting.
