Roswell Police approaching full force

The five newest Roswell Police Department officers were sworn in Wednesday morning at the police station. From left, Ahmed Shidawa, Adrian Jimenez, Ricardo Delgado, Joshua Kelley and Sean Kuhns. Chief Phil Smith administered the oaths to the latest group of officers to join the community’s police force. According to the RPD’s public information officer, the police department has a total allotment of 98 commissioned positions, which includes officers and higher ranks. Wildermuth said there are currently nine officer positions open. “However, there are nine applicants currently in the hiring process,” he said. “They obviously have to successfully complete the process before being hired, but the potential is there to fill all or some of the open positions in the near future.” (Submitted Photo)
