An Albuquerque woman died in a one-vehicle accident in Chaves County early Monday morning, according to New Mexico State Police.

According to a news release the State Police, starting about 6:30 a.m. Monday, investigated the crash on New Mexico State Road 13, mile post 17.

The initial investigation indicated a 1999 Ford Mercury was traveling east on the state road, allegedly at a high rate of speed. For unknown reasons, according to the release, the Mercury left the roadway, overcorrected and then rolled.

All three of the occupants in the vehicle, whom police say were not wearing seatbelts, were ejected. The driver and one of the passengers were flown from the scene to area hospitals for injuries not believed to be life-threatening. Police did not release the names of those people.

Police said a woman passenger, Latoni A. Skinner, 38, of Albuquerque sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
