Senior Circle garage sale set

Senior Circle is having a garage/craft sale from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 21. Senior Circle, a resource of Eastern New Mexico Medical Center, is at 2801 N. Main St., Suite D, next door to Family Dollar.

More than 20 Senior Circle members will set up their wares selling such items as collectible glass, including some depression glass, collectibles, pottery, music boxes, clowns, scrubbies, tea towels, dishcloths, crochet, knitted hats, tools, gospel CDs, organic soaps, DVDs, dolls, cookbooks, kitchen items, linens, bookcase, bench, picture frames, scarves, lots of books and more. Just in, an exercise bike, bread maker, pasta maker, mason jars, etc.

There’s also a silent auction which ends at 11 a.m. Saturday. There’s quite a bit of jewelry, artwork, games, a unique perfume bottle, old Workbaskets from the 1950s to 1980s, crystal and glass items, scrapbook supplies, a doll and more.

Optimist scholarship deadline April 30

The deadline is fast approaching to turn in your application for the Sunrise Optimist Vern Stahl Memorial scholarship. Applications are due April 30, at 3 p.m. to either Roswell High and Goddard High counselor’s office. The Sunrise Optimist Club awards one $1,000 scholarship and one $500 scholarship to graduating seniors from both public high schools. If you don’t have an application you can still pick one up at your counselor’s office.
