Goddard volleyball coach Kristi Hager has resigned two weeks ago. Hager expressed a desire for a new adventure. Hager was 39-36 overall and 10-9 in district play. She led the Lady Rockets to the quarterfinals and the semifinals in the state tournament for the last three years. This season, her team had defending 5A champions St. Pius X on the ropes as they had a 2-0 lead on them.

“I’m from Texas,” Hager said. “I just want to get closer to my family. I’m sad to be leaving the girls, but I decided to take on another adventure.”

Interim athletic director Brian Byrd acknowledge the resignation and thanked coach Hager for her dedication and work in bettering Goddard volleyball and wished her well in the future.

Goddard has begun a search for a replacement. The hope is to have a coach in place as soon as possible.
