Donna was preceded in death by her father Chuck Correll and her husband Brian Leahy.
Donna grew up in Pecos Texas. She loved their school, teachers, and her many friends. She attended West Park Baptist Church in Pecos, Texas. She was baptized and accepted Jesus as her Lord. She graduated from Roswell High School and was class valedictorian. She attended New Mexico State University.
Donna loved doing crafts. She made numerous gifts for her mother and many friends. She loved decorating Christmas trees.
Donna sent a message to her friends on April 14, 2018. Her words… “Hello Everyone, the battery on my life time clock is running extremely low so… I just want to say ‘Thanks for your friendship throughout my life.’ You are all very dear to me (I love ya’ll) and my life would not have been the same without ya’ll. Donna”
Ron Hammonds, her employer and friend of many years replied… “What a sweet message to receive from a friend and employee. You earned your way into our hearts during our time together. More importantly than being technically proficient we quickly became to learn that you cared very much about the company and the crazy cast of characters that made it up. You quickly earned a spot in the Hammonds family that entitles you to all the caring and love that goes with being a member of my family. Thank you for loving us and giving us the opportunity to love in full measure. I believe that as one door closes another door opens into a better place. Go there in peace knowing that it holds a life better than you can possibly imagine. Jesus paid the price for you. All is forgiven and you are entering a new life filled with unimaginable joy. We will selfishly miss you, but we will take comfort in knowing that you have reached the place where bliss exists for all of eternity. Ron”.
We want to extend our love and many thanks to JoAnn and Jerry and their family for taking care of Donna through her months of Pancreatic Cancer. We also want to thank Julie Adams for being there for her and her mother, and to Mary for taking such great care of her mother.
There will be a memorial service for Donna in Houston, Texas and Comfort, Texas.
