Police are investigating a drive-by shooting in south Roswell that occurred in broad daylight Thursday evening.
At about 6:26 p.m. Thursday, first responders were dispatched to the 800 block of South Richardson Avenue in reference to a shooting.
According to a neighbor from the area, the victim was a man riding his bicycle through Richardson Avenue.
Members of the Roswell Police Department taped off the area of South Richardson Avenue from West Deming Street to West Mathews Street.
A downed bicycle facing north and personal items like a backpack, hat, keys and a pack of cigarettes were items visible from outside the crime scene.
Authorities were able to detain a heavyset woman near the area. The woman was reported to be wearing a gray shirt and black shorts in front of Hippie Chicks on South Main Street, just a block away from South Richardson.
The male victim was taken to a local hospital via ambulance and was listed in serious condition.
The Roswell Police Department’s public information officer was later able to confirm the time and place of the incident and that the victim was an adult male in serious condition.
