Guadalupe Provencio Mendez, 86, entered into rest on Tuesday, May 8, 2018, in Lubbock, Texas. A Memorial Service will be held at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home on Saturday, May 12, 2018, 2:30 PM. On June 28, 1931, Guadalupe was born to Henry and Margaret Provencio in Santa Paula, California. She lived a blessed and rich life and was loved by all of those around her. Guadalupe was a Godly woman and loved reading her Bible. She was wise and very devoted to her family and serving God.

“Mom would express her love for everyone and dreamed of the day she would be reunited with her family, who had preceded her…Today, she gets the desire of her heart as we gather to celebrate her life, which resulted in a room full of grateful family and friends, whose lives were all enriched in having had her in all of our lives.”

Those left to eternally treasure and cherish Guadalupe’s memory are her children: Anna G. Covarrubias, Benny Galvan, Ernest Galvan, Carolina Mendez and husband, Blas, Alma G. Perez and husband, Leonicio, Benita Almeda and husband, Aurelio; twenty grandchildren; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; brothers: Benjamin Provencio, Andrew Provencio; and sisters: Gloria De La Torre, and Margie Provencio.

Preceding Guadalupe in death were her husband, Salvador Mendez; children: Gabriel Galvan, Dennis Galvan; parents: Henry and Margaret Provencio; six brothers; and two sisters.
