Lanita Ruth Creager Williamson, a former Roswell resident, passed away peacefully at her home in Dallas, Texas surrounded by her three daughters. She was laid to rest next to her beloved parents in Simpson Cemetery near her hometown in Texas.

“Nita”, as she was known, was born in Ranger, Texas on March 1, 1933, to her parents Willis Ferrol Creager and Othel Clearman Creager both who preceded her in death, as well as, her dear sister, Melba Creager Daves. Mom graduated North Texas State University in Denton, TX with a degree in Elementary Education. She taught first grade for a short while in Midland, Texas and Georgetown, Virginia. Afterwards the family lived in Midland, TX before moving to Roswell in 1965. She was a dedicated member of the First Baptist Church of Roswell serving her church in many different capacities. She managed her own Oil & Gas business and was a member of the American Association of Professional Landmen. Mom raised her children in Roswell and developed many close, lifelong friendships before moving to Dallas, Texas in 1990. In Dallas, she joined Park Cities Baptist Church and enjoyed making friends in her Pathfinders Class. Mom’s great joy in life was the birth and caring for each of her five grandchildren. Most of all, we are forever grateful to Mom for her love, care and fierce protection of us. She is survived by three daughters, Amy W. Wilcox and husband A.D. of Houston, TX, Alice Anderson and husband Hugh of Dallas, TX and Carol Green and husband Raleigh of Dallas,TX brother, Bill Creager of Chestertown, MD, one niece Marsha Daves Otterstedt of Columbus, Ohio one nephew, Will Creager of Chestertown, MD. Five grandchildren Daniel Duncan and wife Melissa of Roswell, NM, Brooke Bounds and husband Conley of Atlanta, GA, Clark Bonner of Phoenix, AZ, Sydney & Sofia Schnurrenberger of Dallas, TX. One great-granddaughter, Addison Duncan of Roswell, NM. The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations in her honor may be made to Park Cities Baptist Church, 3933 Northwest Pkwy, University Park, Texas 75225.
