Optimists support Outdoor Adventure Day

The third annual “Outdoor Adventure Day” is scheduled at Spring River Park and Zoo on June 2. Cpl. Tyson Sanders of the N.M. Department of Game and Fish spoke at the Sunrise Optimist Club’s regular breakfast meeting May 16 to go over the activities, time schedule for the event and to solicit help for the upcoming fishing clinic. Sanders explained that not only will the kids be fishing, they also had many other activities scheduled such as prizes awarded, the Fireman’s Relay, archery shoot, hot dogs, ATV rides, pellet gun range, T-shirts, (as long as they last) and several other events. Registration is open to any youth 11 years old and younger. Registration starts at 7:30 a.m. And is handled again by the Sunrise Optimist Club. Actual fishing starts at 8 a.m. If you would like to know how you could become a Sunrise Optimist member and get in all the activities they support for the youth of Roswell, stop in at a regular breakfast meeting any Wednesday morning, 7 a.m., at the Red Onion Restaurant, 1400 W. 2nd St., or contact membership chairman Roger K.
