Sertoma donates to fireworks show

At the recent board meeting, Roswell Sertoma Club President Michael Trujillo, right, presented a check for $21,000 to the city of Roswell. The money will fund the fireworks at the “The Roswell Sertoma 20th Annual Mike Satterfield Memorial Fireworks Extravaganza” at the Fourth of July events at the Cielo Grande Recreation Area. The Roswell Sertoma Club is a nonprofit organization that assists people who hearing assistance. It also provides scholarships, supports various youth activities and other charitable causes. The money to support these causes is derived from the club’s bingo operation, which holds sessions on Wednesday and Friday at 6:30 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. at 303 N. Virginia Ave. Anyone wishing to join the club is welcome to attend one of its meetings at noon at the Elks Lodge, 1720 N. Montana Ave., every Friday.
