Montes wanted by RPD on battery charge

Sebastian Jesus Montes, 21, is wanted by the Roswell Police Department in connection with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, RPD officials said last week.


Montes is accused of shooting a 28-year-old man in early April as the two sat in a vehicle in an alley in west Roswell. The incident occurred shortly before 11 p.m. in the alley south of Capitan Park, which is located near the corner of West Alameda Street and Evergreen Avenue. The victim suffered multiple gunshot wounds to his right arm and right chest but survived.

Montes is described as 5-foot, 11-inches tall and weighing 175 pounds. He has dark hair, hazel eyes and has tattoos on his neck and right leg.

Anyone with information about the whereabouts of this individual, or having any other information that could potentially help locate the subject, is asked to call the Roswell Police Department at 575-624-6770 or Chaves County Crime Stoppers at 1-888-594-TIPS(8477). Callers to Crime Stoppers may remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward if their information leads to an arrest or conviction.

Individuals are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
