Another mile, another doughnut

Timothy P. Howsare Photo When you envision long-distance runners, you normally don’t picture them eating doughnuts. Bananas and granola bars — maybe. But eating doughnuts while on the run was the whole point of the Donut Run, a 5K event held Saturday morning at Cielo Grande Recreation Area. Each runner or walker had to eat a doughnut at the start of the race. After that, the participants had to eat at least one at each mile station for a maximum of 12. The fundraising event was sponsored by oneighty, the youth group associated with Church on the Move.
