Joshua Aaron Landry, 31, of Ruidoso, NM born March 26, 1987 in Roswell NM went home to be with his Lord and savior June 6, 2018.
For the majority of his life Josh grew up in Capitan, where he played sports, studied and made lifelong friends. He was very fond of the outdoors. He loved being in nature whether it was snowboarding, fishing, camping, four wheeling, or swimming. He loved being surrounded by the mountains.
Josh will always be known for his quiet way (not a man with many words) and contagious smile. He is leaving the greatest impression on his family and friends with his laugh, spontaneity, often being an instigator in his fun loving way. He will truly be missed.
Josh had a passion for music. He wrote songs and was a self taught percussionist. He toured and played with the local Indie Rock band Gleewood as an amazing drummer.
He worked construction and as a ranch hand. This gave him the diverse skill set and discipline to be the hard worker that he was. He put everything he had into the work he was doing at the time.
Josh is survived by his mother Scarlet “Scottie” Shaw (Jeff) of Capitan; father Joe Landry of Roswell; sister Ashley Fry (Kimber) of Phoenix; brother Cody Landry (Cheyenne) niece Kaelyn, nephew Crockett of Capitan; grandmother Caroline Peterson of Capitan; grandmother Evelyn Landry of Roswell as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins from the Livingston and Landry families among many others.
Josh is preceded in death by his grandfather JR “Butch” Livingston.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday June 14, 2018 at Trinity Southern Baptist Church in Capitan NM. Officiating will be Pastor Justin Bowman and Reverend Floyd Goodloe.
A heartfelt thank you to all of those that have reached out to our family during this very difficult time. We love you and appreciate all of your support.
