Johnson honored by USDA

Each June, the U.S. Department of Agriculture celebrates National Home Ownership Month with events across the nation demonstrating the agency’s commitment to providing affordable housing opportunities to rural Americans. This year, USDA Rural Development in New Mexico is holding four events around the state designed to educate the public about home ownership. The event held last week in Roswell honored Rhonda Johnson, WESST regional director, for her outreach efforts to notify the public about home ownership opportunities using USDA Rural Development’s home loans. Due to those efforts, USDA has seen an increased number of inquiries about the Direct Home Loan program. Shown during last week’s event are, Rose Perez, left, USDA Rural Development housing loan specialist; Arthur A. Garcia, USDA Rural Development state director; and Johnson.
