Texas youth providing help to locals

A Texas-based group of church volunteers is in Roswell this week assisting with building projects for local residents who need a helping hand. Central Texas Conference Youth in Mission works in communities throughout the central U.S. and focuses on projects ranging from house repair to lawn care. CTCYM reps visit communities beforehand, and work with local organizations to identify residents who might need assistance. Those seeking help with a project then fill out an application. Here, a group of volunteers with CTCYM work Wednesday to construct a ramp that will help Roswell’s Betty Wyatt access her West Reed Street home. Dan Fiero with CTCYM estimated the group will work on 30 local projects this week. (Daily Record Photo)
