Three new therapy dogs to love

The local chapter of Therapy Dogs International recently certified three new dogs. Altogether, there are now six dogs in the program. The new dogs were at the Senior Circle on Wednesday. Therapy dogs provide affection and comfort to individuals in hospitals, nursing homes and other facilities. Therapy dogs have stable temperaments and friendly, easy-going personalities. They also must get along well with other dogs. They are different from service dogs, which perform tasks for persons with disabilities. A therapy dog is for everybody, while a service dog is just for one person. The dogs visit seven facilities in Roswell. For more information, call 575-725-7624. (Timothy P. Howsare Photo)
