Police have obtained an arrest warrant for George Henry Alley and are seeking the public’s help in locating him, said police spokesman Todd Wildermuth.

Alley is wanted in connection with the shooting of two 18-year-old men that occurred about 5:30 a.m. on West Byrne Street, which is inside the Roswell International Air Center district.

Alley has been charged with two counts of aggravated battery and one count of aggravated assault.

According to an affidavit filed in Chaves County Magistrate Court, police were called to Eastern New Mexico Medical Center early Wednesday to find that one victim had been shot in the buttocks and one in the arm. Wildermuth has described the wounds as non-life-threatening.

According to the victims and a witness, a person who had driven the men to the hospital, they all had gone to Alley’s house that morning because one of them was upset with Alley.

The affidavit stated that police executed a search warrant at Alley’s house and found ammunition inside and some spent casings outside. They also located the car that had been used by the victims and witness and could see from the outside that it had bullet holes in it and blood on the seats.

Alley is described as 5-foot, 10-inches and about 260 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information that could help locate Alley is asked to call the Roswell Police Department at 575-624-6770 or Chaves County Crime Stoppers at 888-594-TIPS (8477).
