Dr. Martinez speaks at Sunrise Optimist

Roswell native Dr. Reynaldo Martinez spoke to the Sunrise Optimist Club recently about his health program called Walk with a Doc. Martinez has spearheaded a walking group that meets at the playground at the Cielo Grande Recreation Area at 8 a.m. on Saturdays. A 10- or 15-minute presentation on a health- or fitness-related topic. Anyone can come and enjoy the benefits of Walk with a Doc. All skill levels are welcome. Martinez explained how just 150 minutes a week of some form of exercise will help improve your health. Martinez went to school in Roswell and received his medical degree from the UNM School of Medicine. The Sunrise Optimist Club has community speakers at its 7 a.m. Wednesday morning breakfast meetings at the Red Onion Restaurant on West Second Street. If you want to hear the speakers or want to know more about the Sunrise Optimist Club in its efforts to improve life for the youth of Roswell, join them any Wednesday morning.
