Robert T. Bergener (Bob)

Robert T. Bergener (Bob) was born July 15, 1946 in Kansas City, Kansas and died in Grand Junction, Colorado on June 14, 2018 due to heart complications.
He spent his early years in Kankakee, Illinois and Roswell, New Mexico. In 1966 he moved to Aspen, Colorado for a summer job. He met his wife, Elizabeth Off (Barrie) in Aspen and they were married in 1969.
They had two children, Jacob and Michael, and spent the majority of their lives in the Roaring Fork Valley between Aspen and Carbondale, Colorado.
In 2005 they moved to Rifle, Colorado and in 2013, they retired to Grand Junction. Bob enjoyed riding motorcycles, tinkering with antique cars and trucks, and golf. His driveways and garages were always filled with motorcycles and automobiles.
Bob was preceded in death by his father Karl Bergener, his mother Janece Bergener, his sister Barbara Montgomery and his brother Charles (“Pete”) Bergener.
He is survived by his wife Barrie, his son Jake (Leah) and his son Michael. Other survivors include his brothers John Bergener and Steve Bergener (Susan) and his sisters Jane Andrews (Michael), Betsy Franchini (Greg), Teresa Reddoch (Dave), Karla Church (Chris) and Martha Albue (Bryan).
He is also survived by his grandchildren Sadie, Wheeler, Ash, Barrett and Rhodes.
Bob was a loving family man and a devoted friend of many people. Donations in Bob’s name can be made to the American Heart Association or the charity of one’s choice.
A celebration of Bob’s life was held on Saturday, June 30 at Battlement Mesa Golf Course in Parachute, Colorado.
