Apology for ‘Civic embarrassment’ remark

In my Saturday letter to the editor calling Thursday night’s City Council meeting a CIVIC EMBARRASSMENT, I should probably have waited until I had read Alison Penn’s Saturday story, “Fundraising for-all inclusive park approved.”

Her very diplomatic opening paragraph, “During an evening marked by emotional, controversial subjects and contentious votes, the Roswell City Council unanimously approved” … during a five-hour council meeting,” very eloquently described a meeting that was too emotional and too lengthy for us, well elderly who refuse to participate in civic affairs from the comfort of our recliners. Make no doubt about it, it is my belief that it won’t be too long before Roswell will once again be in the running for the All American City title.

Please accept my apologies for being too succinct with my frustrations.
