Nellie Pearl Herrington, 77, of Encino, New Mexico, peacefully entered her eternal rest on Friday, July 20, 2018, in Roswell, New Mexico, surrounded by her loved ones. Celebrate Nellie’s life by visiting www.andersonbethany.com to offer a memory or expression of sympathy for her family.
On August 16, 1940, Nellie was born in Roswell, New Mexico, to James Paul and Bessie Irene Woody. She was a dedicated wife, loving mother and grandmother, and a committed child of God. Nellie’s unconditional love, compassion and generosity will be remembered by all who knew her. She spent most of her time helping others. Nellie loved cooking and used that gift to bless many. She loved working outdoors and bird watching but above all, she loved her family. Nellie was also a faithful servant to her church community as well. She especially loved teaching children’s Sunday School for many years.
Preceding Nellie in death are both parents: James Paul and Bessie Irene Woody; along with seven siblings: Georgia Nichols, Pauline King, Morris Woody, Doris Beasley, Ruby Woody, Betty Kosloski, and V.J. Woody.
Those left to eternally cherish and treasure Nellie’s memory are her beloved husband of fifty-two years, Boyd Wayne Herrington; five children: Barbara Manz, Tammy Jackson and husband, Jeff, Robert Fletcher, Matthew Herrington and wife, Beth, Amanda Del Real and husband, Mike; ten grandchildren: Holley Manz, Tuesday Manz, Jamie Baker, Kelsey Carpenter, Lucus Herrington, Alice Herrington, Madisyn Del Real, Pyper Del Real, Chloe Del Real, Brycen Del Real; three great-grandchildren: Micheal Kowalko, Heidi Kowalko, Annabelle Herrington; four siblings: James Woody, Chester Woody, Bessie Mae Rankin, Rose Buckner; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
There will be a public Viewing at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home in Roswell, New Mexico, on Wednesday, July 25, 2018, from 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM.
A Service will be held to honor Nellie’s life at the First Baptist Church in Vaughn, New Mexico, on Thursday, July 26, 2018, at 1:00 PM.
Those chosen as Pallbearers will be: Matthew Herrington, Robert Fletcher, Lucas Herrington, Micheal Kowalko, David Buckner and Michael Buckner.
Nellie’s tribute was lovingly written in her honor by her family.
