The Assurance Home Board of Directors held its annual meeting on July 24 at the Anderson Museum of Contemporary Art. The meeting helped to mark the 39th year that Assurance Home has been caring for homeless and at-risk adolescent children. Directors elected to the board for a three-year term during the meeting were Dick Taylor, Ray Willis, Sheila Crossley, Jody Leonard and Cindy Boswell. Officers for the up-coming program year will be: Dick Taylor, president; Sandi Davis, vice president; Don Bullock, secretary; and Cindy Boswell, treasurer. Lanie Smith was voted to serve on the Executive Committee. Additional board members include: Kelley Alsup; Eileen Grooms; A.J. Olsen and Linda Yates. Assurance Home is a stand-alone, private, non-profit corporation that opened its doors to abused, neglected, homeless and ‘at-risk’ children in April of 1979. Assurance Home also provides shelter services to adolescent children in crisis through a program called the James Ranch Youth Shelter.
