RMAC announces address change

The Roswell Museum and Art Center (RMAC) will have a new address. It will stay in the same location but with a new address that will be effective on Wednesday.

The official address of the Roswell Museum and Art Center will be 1011 N. Richardson Ave. replacing the former address of 100 W. 11th St. The intent of the change is to help more directly guide visitors to the parking lot shared by the museum and the Roswell Convention and Civic Center.

Currently, both the museum entrance and parking lot are on the south side of the building.

The entrance moved from the north side, which has only street parking, to the south side in 1998 following the addition of the Patricia Lubben Bassett Art Education Center wing. However, the West 11th Street address remained.

During the last 20 years, the address has been a contributing factor to confusion about the location of the museum’s entrance, with visitors often parking on the north side and then searching for the entrance.

While wayfinding signage has helped, the new address should point visitors more efficiently to the south-side parking lot that is most often accessed off of North Richardson Avenue.
