Roswell Police are searching for a suspect in a Monday night shooting.

Victor Richardson

A press release issued by the Roswell Police Department states an arrest warrant was issued for Victor Richardson, 22, of Roswell on charges of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and felon in possession of a firearm. The RPD Criminal Investigation Division has taken over the case.

The charges stem from a shooting that happened Monday in the 1700 block of North Michigan Avenue. Police were dispatched to the scene at about 8:50 p.m. in response to a call about a man shot in the right shoulder.

The victim was discovered about one block from the scene of the incident and taken to a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries, according to the release.

At the time of the incident, the Roswell SWAT Team was called to the scene because it was believed Richardson was still in the home where the shooting happened, but they later discovered he was not, according to the release.
